An 11-year-old boy died after being electrocuted while climbing on top of a moving train in the Moscow region, officials confirmed.

The victim, identified as Ilya, was reportedly engaging in a dangerous act known as train surfing when he came into contact with a high-voltage power line. Witnesses at the scene said the boy was electrocuted instantly and became motionless on the train’s roof.

Emergency medical personnel arrived quickly but were unable to revive him. Authorities said the child sustained fatal electrical burns from the high-voltage current.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, emphasizing the growing concern over risky social media challenges and thrill-seeking behavior among youth. Safety officials renewed their warnings against climbing on trains or entering restricted railway areas, citing the extreme danger posed by overhead electrical lines.
