A man riding a motorcycle was shot dead by a police officer during a robbery attempt in São Paulo. The incident took place on the morning of Friday, September 12, on Avenida João Dias, in the southern part of the city.

According to witnesses, the motorcyclist tried to rob drivers in a car. A military police officer who was on his way to work saw the crime in progress and decided to intervene. The confrontation was captured on video by someone riding a bus.

The motorcyclist was shot, fell beside his motorcycle, and was confirmed dead at the scene by medical responders. Police units secured the area and conducted investigations.

Authorities say the officer acted after witnessing the robbery and in response to the threat posed. The case is now being handled by the 92nd Police District.
