A car wash owner, identified as Jonathan Santos Carrasco, 48, was shot dead by a gunman in his own business in San Juan de Lurigancho. The attack occurred as he stood talking with a woman when a hooded assailant violently burst in and opened fire. Santos attempted to fend off the attacker but was struck multiple times. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

Police are investigating the incident, considering possible motives such as an act of extortion or a retaliatory hit amid a broader wave of organized crime in the area.
