A devastating flash flood struck Dharali village in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, on August 5, 2025, following a sudden cloudburst in the Himalayan region. The powerful surge of water and debris destroyed homes, shops, and parts of the local infrastructure, leaving the village buried under mud and rubble.

At least four people have been confirmed dead, while over 50 others remain missing. Rescue operations are underway, with teams from the army, disaster response forces, and local authorities working around the clock to locate survivors. Heavy rains and unstable terrain are complicating the efforts.
