A pickup truck mounted a sidewalk and fatally struck a man who was walking his motorcycle in what is now part of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. The crash occurred around midday on Friday, August 2, along Đặng Văn Bi Street.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck veered off the road, drove up onto the sidewalk, and crashed into a utility pole. The impact killed the motorcyclist instantly. The truck driver was found unconscious behind the wheel and later died, with bystanders reporting that he appeared slumped over moments before the crash.

The collision snapped a power pole and severely damaged both the truck and the motorcycle. Debris was scattered across the area. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began forensic work and a review of surveillance footage.

Initial findings suggest the driver may have experienced a medical emergency, such as a stroke or seizure, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. An official investigation is ongoing.
