A tragic incident unfolded in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday, July 22, when a truck driver was electrocuted while adjusting a tarpaulin. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Ramlal Gadri, died instantly after his head came in contact with an overhead electric wire while standing on top of his truck. The incident occurred around 2:00 PM outside Modi Chemical Factory in the RICO Industrial Area, under the jurisdiction of Dabok Police Station.

According to reports, Ramlal had finished unloading goods and climbed atop the vehicle to secure the tarpaulin when the fatal contact occurred. A powerful electric spark was seen before he collapsed onto the truck, dying within seconds. The horrifying moment was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, footage of which later surfaced.

Ramlal Gadri was the sole breadwinner of his family and the only son of his aging parents. He is survived by his wife, a 15-year-old son, and a 9-year-old daughter. His sudden death has plunged the family into grief and unrest.

Upon learning of the incident, family members and members of the local community gathered in large numbers outside the factory, staging a sit-in protest and demanding accountability and compensation from the factory owner. Tensions escalated as no responsible factory personnel were present when the family arrived. Authorities, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and police officers, later arrived to manage the situation.

Initially, the family was not informed of the true cause of death. It was only after reviewing CCTV footage the following day that the electrocution was confirmed. The protest continued, with the family and community insisting that the factory owner be held accountable and provide financial support to the bereaved family.
