Amazonas — A disturbing video circulating on social media this Wednesday (July 2) has shocked internet users by showing a woman being violently attacked in a rural area of Mancapuru, Amazonas, after allegedly being caught stealing.

The footage, recorded by local residents, captures the woman, known by the nickname “Ligeirinha,” pleading for mercy and appealing to the crowd’s empathy, crying out “for the faith” as she tries to defend herself. Despite her pleas, the angry mob continued to assault her.

One resident was seen wielding a piece of wood during the attack. “Ligeirinha” sustained multiple blows, primarily to her legs and arms. The video ends with the woman managing to escape. The local community now hopes that this incident serves as a lesson.
