LONDON, UK — Metropolitan Police in Tower Hamlets are investigating a violent incident in Limehouse, East London, where a vehicle allegedly struck a pedestrian twice in what authorities are treating as an attempted murder.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening. Footage from the scene shows a white car reversing into a man wearing orange, knocking him to the ground. The vehicle then reversed again, forcefully propelling the victim into the air before fleeing. Several bystanders tried to intervene as the driver and passengers abandoned the car and fled on foot.
The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was transported to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Police confirmed that this was one of two similar vehicle-related assaults reported in the area that day, though no additional serious injuries have been disclosed.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Three other individuals believed to have been in the vehicle remain at large. Authorities are appealing for witnesses, including a second potential victim, to come forward with any information.
