On Monday afternoon, June 2, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a 68-year-old woman was struck by a train while attempting to cross the railway line in the central region of Carandaí.
According to witnesses, the woman was caught off guard by the approaching train, which hit her and caused her to fall to the ground. The crossing is located in a busy area with significant pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Emergency responders from SAMU arrived promptly to provide first aid, while the Military Police managed traffic and documented the incident.
Despite the severity of the situation, the woman sustained only minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her identity has not been disclosed.
