A 46-year-old cyclist was hit by a car in Ust-Ilimsk on May 19. A video of the incident, distributed on social networks, shows that the SUV ran over the man's head. The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate is investigating the circumstances of the tragedy, the regional headquarters of the department reported on its Telegram channel.
The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Mira Avenue. The cyclist crashed into a parked Toyota Land Cruiser and fell onto the roadway, where he was run over by a 54-year-old woman driving another SUV, a Land Rover.
The cyclist was taken from the scene of the accident to a district hospital. He survived the night with serious injuries, but died today. An investigation is underway.
