A 16-year-old Dalit girl was assaulted for resisting harassment while traveling on a bus in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, May 2. The incident occurred when the victim, who was onboard the bus, was harassed by the accused.
When the bus conductor and driver attempted to intervene and protect the girl, they were also physically attacked by the assailants.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. According to the bus driver, Saleem, he tried to stop the harassment, but the accused became aggressive and assaulted him.
