A man was struck and killed while fleeing from police on a Memphis interstate Saturday afternoon, according to reports and video footage. Authorities say the incident occurred around 1:19 p.m. when the man ran across I-55 South near I-240 West after a traffic stop was initiated.
He was hit by a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu and pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured, and the westbound lanes of both highways were closed for several hours as investigators examined the area.
