Mohali, February 04 A tragic road accident took place on the Kharar flyover in Mohali, in which two youths on a bike fell thirty feet down after being hit by an unknown vehicle. During the accident, both the youths hit high-voltage (11 KV) power lines, causing the wires to break and slow their fall. The entire incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed near the flyover, the video of which is now going viral on social media.
The incident took place near the tehsil office, where the bike-riding Pankaj (28), a resident of Gurunanak Colony, Kharar, and Krish (19), a native of Jind, lost their balance after being hit by an unknown vehicle. The collision was so violent that both the youths fell down from the flyover along with the bike. During the fall, they got entangled in high-tension wires, which caused tremendous sparking in the wires and the scene of lightning.
People trapped in the traffic jam under the flyover saw the accident and immediately rushed for help. Passerby Gagan immediately rushed the injured to the Civil Hospital in Kharar, but they were referred to the PGI Chandigarh in view of their serious injuries. According to doctors, Krish's condition remains critical.
