An argument between two mate street vendors ended in violence on Monday afternoon (03), on the beach of Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The conflict happened at the time of Post 5 and left a man seriously injured after being stabbed.
According to witnesses, the fight began when one of the sellers tried to offer the drink to a group of bathers who had already bought it from another street vendor. The disagreement quickly escalated to physical aggressions, with punches and kicks.
In the midst of confusion, José Edson Henrique de Medeiros took out a knife and hit Edilson Francisco da Silva, who was seriously injured. Bathers who were at the scene recorded images of the attack and the care provided by Fire Department teams.
Victim hospitalized and aggressor arrested
Edilson was sent in serious condition to the Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital, in Barra da Tijuca. The Military Police was called and arrested José Edson in flagrante, leading him to the police station, where he was fined for attempted murder.
