A young man was shot when he tried to defend himself from a robbery in Bogotá. A security camera captured on video the episode that occurred in the town of Chapinero during the afternoon of January 16 and that has aroused reactions from some political sectors.
The attack took place on 54th Street with 5th Street. According to the images, the boy was walking a dog and walking on one of the platforms.
In a matter of seconds, a motorcycle intercepted him. A man got out of this one who pointed a gun at him to give him his belongings. The young man, in his attempt to avoid the robbery, threw a fist at the criminal. However, he activated the gun and injured him.
The victim fell to the ground. Community of the sector, who realized what happened, approached to help him and call the authorities. From the first information, the boy was transferred to a care center.
The police said they had an "investigative bubble" to locate those responsible for this incident. Analyze the escape route of the 'motor thieves'. "There is a struggle where the victim is injured. This person was immediately transferred to a medical center in order to help him," said Lieutenant Colonel Juan Montilla, commander of the Chapinero Police Station.
