The incident occurred in downtown Guayaquil.
A young man was walking with his backpack facing forward when two men approached from behind. One of them jumped on him and choked him. He was thrown to the ground while the victim of the robbery, desperate, tried to defend himself and prevent them from taking his backpack.
While one of the criminals subdued him until he fell asleep, the other took his backpack. When he was sure that he was immobile, he searched his pockets to take everything. The young man, a victim of the robbery, managed to wake up and stand up, scared and asking for help after the seconds of panic he experienced.
The incident was recorded on video surveillance cameras and occurred on the morning of September 12.
