Residents of Tuyun Village, Mihing Raya District, Gunung Mas Regency (Gumas), Central Kalimantan ( Kalteng ) were shocked by the discovery of a body in the former SMAN 1 Mihing Raya building, Thursday (12/9/2024) morning
The school building is now used as a residential area. The victim is believed to have died after his neck was caught in the door.
According to information gathered, the victim, whose initials are DB (34), is suspected of trying to enter the housing complex by breaking the lock and prying open the door.
However, when his head managed to get in, his neck got caught in the door which was still locked.
As a result of the incident, the victim, who residents suspected was the perpetrator of the theft, was strangled until he died and was found by residents.
"It is suspected that the victim could not pull his head back, so he was trapped and died due to lack of oxygen," said Gumas Police Chief AKBP Theodorus Priyo Santosa, through Sepang Police Chief Iptu Debby Soesilo, Thursday (12/9) afternoon.
