A moped rider collided with a train in Bogorodsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, on August 6, 2024. This was reported by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate for the region.
The accident occurred at 16:28 on the railway section of the Okskaya - Kozhevennoye stations near house 1A on Nizhegorodskoye Highway in Bogorodsk. The driver, born in 1959, ignored the closed barrier and the red light and drove onto the pedestrian crossing of the tracks.
As a result, the moped driver collided with a passenger rail bus and died. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.
Let us add that, according to information from the Central Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the driver applied emergency braking, but the collision could not be prevented.
