The family of the former barangay captain who was shot dead in Brgy. Baldoza, Lapaz, Iloilo City.
The victim was identified as Ernie Poral, 65, resident of Brgy. Ingore, Lapaz, Iloilo City.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo Koronadal, Toto, the victim's son, said his father and mother left early in the morning to buy bubod.
According to Toto, he received a message that his father had been shot and immediately went to the scene, where he witnessed his father washing himself with his own blood.
He also said that to his knowledge, his father has no opponent since he took office as punong barangay of their area.
Now, they are looking for a person who may be behind his father's death.
According to residents, at 4:00 am yesterday, a motorcycle was going back and forth in front of the former barangay captain's house.
It is also believed that the former barangay captain may have been under surveillance before he was shot dead.
The victim sustained fatal head injuries that led to his death.
