Manaus – Jelsiney Fernandes, 33, died after being run over on Monday morning (13), on Rua Comandante Norberto Won Gal, Redenção neighborhood, central-west zone of the capital.
According to information provided to the police, the victim was allegedly drunk and was sleeping outside the bar, as he tried to leave he stumbled into the road then got crushed by a passing car. The driver of the car that ran over Jelsiney informed the team that he was traveling at the permitted speed and was unable to avoid when the victim appeared in front of the car. With the impact, Jelsiney ended up being run over and killed.
The team from the Scientific Technical Department (DPTC) and the Legal Medical Institute (IML) were called to examine and remove the body.
The driver of the car was taken to the police station to provide further clarification.
