A shocking incident took place in the district of San Martín de Porres , in Lima, Peru, where a young man suffered an electric shock when climbing a high voltage pole.
The neighbors, alerted by the cries of despair, ran to help the affected person. Apparently, the young man was trying to reach some pigeons that were perching on the post, but when he was unable to do so, he extended himself to the other end, receiving the powerful discharge.
Thanks to the quick reaction of those present and the use of a van with a ladder, the young man was rescued and taken to the Cayetano Heredia Hospital .
As a result of the accident, the electrical service was suspended for five hours. The victim suffered severe second and third degree burns.
