Peter Barrientos (31) was attacked by one of the horses participating in the day’s competition and died while being treated at the Pampas hospital.
Around 6:00 in the afternoon on Monday, February 12, the horse race was taking place, bringing together hundreds of competitors and visitors, when suddenly the victim, from the district of San Pedro de Coris, province of Churcampa, entered in apparent condition. drunk on the track, being violently attacked by one of these animals.
Before the stunned look of the public, the organizers of the event requested the presence of an ambulance, which arrived minutes later.
The Acraquia health personnel quickly treated the victim, who due to the severity of his facial wound was transferred to the Pampas hospital, where he died.
Doctor Héctor Gonzales confirmed his death due to severe head trauma. Peter’s body was transferred to the Hualhuas morgue, in Huancayo.
