A man was seriously injured this Saturday night after receiving a brutal beating when he was refueling at a Yecla gas station located in the La Herrada industrial estate, on the Villena highway.
According to sources close to the investigation, the victim was driving a high-end vehicle and everything indicates that they were following him with the intention of stealing his car; so it was. The man stopped to refuel and, at that moment, three individuals got out of another vehicle and kicked him hard in the head, leaving him badly injured.
One of the assailants fled with the victim's vehicle and the other two fled in the SUV in which they were traveling. The attacked man was transferred to the Morales Meseguer hospital in Murcia, where he was admitted to the ICU due to the severity of his injuries, although he is stable.
At the moment, there are no arrests. The Civil Guard is looking for three men who apparently hit the victim, leaving him unconscious on the ground. A neighbor who arrived a few minutes later alerted the Local Police that, when he arrived, he found the victim convulsing.
Until now, it is unknown if the theft of the vehicle was the only motivation for the savage beating.
