Footage of the brutal murder of a mullah in Chechnya spread across local chats.
In a video, an unknown person stabs the clergyman multiple times with a knife in front of the victim’s son and flees the scene.
An unknown person parked near the house of Mullah Abdurakhim Gakaev, armed himself with a knife and entered the victim’s yard.
During the conversation, the killer attacked the clergyman and struck him more than ten times. The crime was committed in front of a boy who is presumably the son of the murdered man. Having dealt with the man, the unknown person got into the Infinity car and fled the place.
The killer has not yet been apprehended. Currently, there are two main versions of the motive for the crime. According to the first version, the mullah became a victim of blood feud.
According to the second version, the conflict occurred on religious grounds – the attacker was a supporter of the radical branch of Islam.
