“The deceased was an athlete, a professional boxer. His name was Elyer Yunusmetov. He was 34 years old. This happened on January 13 in the afternoon near the entrance of the house on Kazakhstan Street, 98,” the publication writes.
A 27-year-old man shot the athlete and then fled. A passerby discovered the body near the entrance and called the police. The suspect was quickly detained within an hour. He admitted that he shot the man out of jealousy towards his 24-year-old wife.
“A criminal case has been registered regarding the murder of a man born in 1990. The suspect, born in 1997, was detained. An investigation is underway. Other information is not subject to disclosure,” the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department said.
