A plain clothes police officer shot and killed one of the two criminals who were participating in an attempted car jacking, shortly before dusk this Tuesday.
The events took place on Santa Julia Avenue and Los Olmos Street, after 9:00 p.m., when a group of subjects aboard a vehicle stood in the way of another car, with the intention of stealing it.
In the images recorded by a security camera, two of the criminals are seen intimidating the driver of the white car. At least one of them was pointing a gun.
From the other side of the street, a Franco police officer noticed the robbery and drew his weapon to try to thwart the robbery from his vehicle.
According to witnesses, the official fired about six shots and one of the projectiles wounded the armed assailant in the head, causing him to fall dead at the scene. The companion fled, without achieving his objective.
