A radio anchorman in Calamba, Misamis Occidental was shot dead by an unidentified suspect while having a live broadcast. According to radio reports, Juan “DJ Johnny Walker” Jumalon was shot by an unidentified suspect while inside the announcer’s booth at 94.7 Gold Mega Calamba FM at around 5:35am early today, November 5, 2023. The victim was live-streaming on Facebook when the gunman entered and shot him at close range before grabbing his necklace.
Initial police report revealed two suspects appeared at the gate with the intent of having an important announcement made at the radio station which is located inside the victim’s residence located at Purok 2, Brgy. Don Bernardo A. Neri, Calamba, Misamis Occidental. However, upon entering the gate, the suspects drew their firearms and one entered the house where the victim’s radio station is located and shot the victim. The suspects then fled to an unknown direction.
