Two people died, practically crushed, when they were hit by rocks that fell from the mountain and fell on the Alóag – Santo Domingo road.
The accident occurred this afternoon, Wednesday, November 1, at kilometer 17. The victims were traveling to Alóag in a red Mazda BT50 truck, whose cabin was destroyed by the weight of the stones.
At this time, experts from the Ecuadorian Traffic Commission (CTE) are carrying out the removal of two bodies to transfer them to the Santo Domingo Forensic Center .
The names of the deceased are not yet known. People were also traveling in the back seat of the truck , who were injured and needed medical attention.
The road was closed so that the uniformed officers could carry out the corresponding protocols. Machinery from the Provincial Government of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas arrived to remove the stone material.
