A horrific car accident occurred in Ren’ai Township, Nantou County on the 27th. A passenger car made an illegal turn on the double-yellow line section near the Cingjing Skywalk in order to park, and hit a motorcycle shared by a couple, causing the motorcycle to collapse.
A 75-year-old woman surnamed Shi in the back seat was run over and died of serious injuries. Her husband, an 80-year-old man surnamed Quan, who was riding a motorcycle, was injured.
The driver of a passenger car was responsible for the accident and was transferred to justice by the police on suspicion of negligent death.
