On the 28th, a man who was directing traffic was hit and killed by a car on a national highway in Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
A 63-year-old man who was driving the car was arrested.
According to the police, around 3:30 pm on the 28th, a large truck hit a man in his 60s who was directing traffic for weeding work on National Route 200 in Yunohara, Nogata City.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead about an hour later.
Police arrested Fumio Yanagi (63), a company employee in Fukutsu City, who was driving a large freight vehicle, and are investigating him on suspicion of negligent driving resulting in death.
In response to the investigation, Suspect Yanagi admitted to the allegations, and at the time of reporting, he said, "The left lane was regulated, but I didn't notice it."
