The worker, who tried to clean the windshield of the high-speed train, which was prepared for the expedition at Söğütlüçeşme Station in Istanbul Kadıköy, with a long-handled brush, was caught in high tension. The seriously injured worker was treated in the intensive care unit.

United Transport Workers' Union (BTS) made a statement about the work accident that occurred when a worker was caught in high voltage while cleaning the train in Istanbul.

BTS underlined that the works previously given by TCDD and TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.Ş.'s own personnel, including the essential services of the institution, have been outsourced for a long time.

Pointing out that cleaning is at the forefront of these services, BTS emphasized that the employees of the subcontractor companies in TCDD and TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.

In the statement made by BTS, it was stated that the cleaning of the trains is done on the non-electric repair-maintenance lines, and it is against the legislation to clean this line under the "catenary line", as in the accident.
