A youth attempted self-immolation in New Baneshwor on Tuesday.

Prem Acharya of Panchakanya, Ilam set himself on fire and attempted suicide this afternoon, Kathmandu District Police Range spokesperson Dinesh Raj Mainali said.

Mainali said that he was rescued immediately and rushed to the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur.

He said that they are looking into the case.
