A 25-year-old young man was seriously injured after being hit in the head by a tear gas canister during a confrontation between a group of protesters and the National Police in the streets of downtown Lima.

A video recorded the precise moment that the projectile violently impacted the victim and knocked him down, leaving him unconscious on the side of the track while his companions confronted the authorities with stones.

Given the seriousness of his condition, the patient is being treated in the shock trauma area. His forecast is reserved.
