During the early hours of yesterday, Eladio Godoy Zarza, 35, was run over by a van just meters from his home, when he was preparing to leave for work, aboard his motorcycle at 03:30.

The man lost his life instantly.

According to the police report, the driver of the vehicle, Miguel Ángel Aquino Estigarribía, 42 years old, residing in Barrio San Miguel, was in a total state of intoxication and in the mishap he also rammed into a house, causing in addition to the death of the man, material damage to the structure.

The unfortunate event occurred on Santa Clara streets, almost Caaguazú corridor, in the San Miguel neighborhood, on the way to Rincón, in the city of Villarrica, department of Guairá.

The alcohol test was carried out on the driver, who gave a result of 1,016%, after this procedure the author of the fatal accident was detained at the 4th San Miguel Police Station, Villarrica, as well as the vehicle.
