JACKSON, Mississippi — The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man dead at an apartment complex.
23-year-old Marquis Bell was shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries police say.
Police say Bell was sitting inside of a vehicle with R. Parker when the suspect, Landius Holmes, pulled into the complex and attacked Parker.
Bell went to assist Parker.
Sources online say Bell put down his weapon to confront Holmes, who instead opened fire and shot him multiple times.
