A traffic police officer was killed in a serious road accident involving patrol motorcycles and a Chevrolet Onix in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The collision occurred on July 16 at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Durmon Yo‘li Street in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district. According to the Traffic Safety Service, three officers travelling on patrol motorcycles collided with a Chevrolet Onix that entered the intersection from Gazalkent Street.

One of the traffic police officers riding a motorcycle died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Other injured individuals were taken for medical treatment, with further details about their condition being clarified.

Authorities denied reports that the accident happened during an official motorcade escort. An investigation has been launched to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
