Two suspected militia members were killed and a resident was injured after heavily armed gunmen launched an attack in the Rio das Pedras community of Jacarepaguá, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

According to local reports, members of the Red Command (Comando Vermelho), allegedly linked to the Caranguejo Squad and the Urso Squad, entered the community and opened fire during the early evening.

Authorities said two suspected militia members were killed in the attack. One of the deceased was identified by the alias "Jogador." A local resident was also injured during the incident and received medical treatment.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack, identify those involved, and establish whether additional suspects were injured or fled the scene. The motive is believed to be linked to ongoing territorial disputes between rival criminal groups operating in the area.
