A worker was killed in a workplace accident during a tanker truck recovery operation in the Yakutia region of Russia after a steel towing cable snapped under tension.

According to preliminary reports, the victim was standing within the cable's recoil path when it suddenly broke under high tension. The cable struck the worker, causing fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
