A 13-year-old girl died after falling from the first floor of her home while feeding monkeys in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, India.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Sant Colony area under the Banke Bihari Police Outpost jurisdiction. The girl was feeding monkeys from a first-floor window when she reportedly lost her balance and fell approximately 15 feet onto the road below.

Residents rushed to help and attempted to take her to hospital, but she died at the scene from her injuries. The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.

The victim, identified as Purva, had been adopted by a couple from Ayodhya and had been living with them in Vrindavan for several years. At the time of the incident, her parents were at work while her younger brother was at home.

Police responded to the scene, secured the CCTV footage, and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
