Businessman Shot Dead Outside His Store in Gandu, Brazil

A 37-year-old businessman was shot and killed outside his store in the town of Gandu, in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

The victim was identified as Êxodo Santos de Jesus, a local entrepreneur known in the community. The attack took place on May 9, 2026, in front of the business he owned.

Security camera footage shows a suspect arriving on a motorcycle and approaching the victim while still wearing a helmet. The businessman was leaning against a car when the gunman opened fire at close range before fleeing the scene.

The victim died at the scene.

According to preliminary reports, the businessman had reportedly been involved in an argument at a bar in the nearby town of Piraí do Norte shortly before the shooting. Police have not confirmed whether the dispute was connected to the killing.

The Bahia Civil Police are investigating the motive and working to identify the suspect.
