Father Killed, 9-Year-Old Daughter Critically Injured in Road Roller Accident in Bathinda, India

A man was killed and his nine-year-old daughter was critically injured after their scooter came under a reversing road roller in Bathinda, Punjab.

The accident occurred on May 8, 2026, in Street No. 9 of Ganesh Basti, where road construction work was underway. According to local reports, the father was riding with his daughter when their scooter lost balance after skidding on loose gravel near a house ramp.

Both fell onto the road as a road roller working in the narrow lane was reversing. The heavy vehicle ran over them before the operator could stop.

The father suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene. His daughter sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remained in critical condition.

Emergency volunteers and police responded to the scene, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
