A roadside dispute between two drivers ended in tragedy in the village of Santo Domingo Los Ocotes, in San Antonio La Paz, El Progreso.

According to reports, the incident began after a white Kia truck blocked a narrow street, leading to an argument with the driver of an agricultural pickup truck. The confrontation escalated when the driver of the Toyota pickup exited his vehicle armed and struck the other driver with the butt of his firearm.

As the situation unfolded, the victim approached the Toyota pickup, at which point he was shot by an individual inside the white truck. The vehicle then reversed and fled the scene.

Two women who were inside the agricultural pickup exited the vehicle in distress following the shooting.

Municipal and departmental firefighters responded to the emergency call and transported the injured man to San Juan de Dios Hospital. He was later pronounced dead. The victim was identified as Lubin Cruz, 35.

Medical assessment indicated that Cruz sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including four to the back, one to the head, and an exit wound to the chest.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to identify those responsible.
