Authorities carried out the execution of two men in the Al-Houban area following their conviction in the murder of a citizen, Ahmed Hassan Abdullah, in a case dating back to 2007.

According to local sources, the crime took place in the village of Al-Jundiyah, where the victim—an elderly man with limited mobility—was found dead inside a small room where he lived near khat farms. The incident was widely described as particularly brutal and caused significant concern among residents.

Investigations at the time led authorities to suspect two young men, Faisal Ali Mahyoub and Nayef Ali Dahhan. They were later arrested and brought to trial after evidence linked them to the crime. Preliminary indications suggested that the motive may have involved a search for hidden valuables in older properties.

The convicted individuals spent several years in central prison before escaping during the period of armed conflict. They were subsequently recaptured, and the legal process continued until a final verdict was issued and carried out, following persistent demands from the victim’s family.

The execution was conducted publicly, in the presence of local residents, as part of the enforcement of judicial penalties under applicable law. Despite the proceedings, the exact motive behind the crime has not been definitively established, particularly given the victim’s inability to defend himself.
