Coimbatore, India — A father and his young daughter narrowly survived a serious road accident after a car allegedly driven under the influence rammed into their two-wheeler, according to police.

The incident took place in the Thattampudur area on March 23 and was captured on CCTV footage. The visuals show a speeding car crashing into the two-wheeler from behind, throwing both victims onto the road due to the force of the impact.

Despite the severity of the collision, both the father and daughter survived, though they sustained injuries. They were taken for medical treatment following the accident.

Authorities said the driver of the car is suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officials have reiterated concerns over reckless and drunk driving, warning that such behavior continues to pose a serious risk to public safety.
