A pregnant woman was seriously injured after being shot outside her home in Uribia, La Guajira, Colombia.

The victim was identified as Katerine Torrez Barros, a psychologist, who was attacked on the night of March 22. According to preliminary reports, the assailant arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire multiple times, striking the woman.

The attack was captured on video and shows the suspect wearing a white top while using a firearm to carry out the shooting.

Following the incident, the victim was initially taken to a medical facility in Maicao. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to a higher-level hospital, where she remains in critical condition under intensive care.

Authorities indicated that the woman is approximately four months pregnant, raising further concern about her condition.

Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspect, while the incident has caused alarm and condemnation within the local community.
