An explosion involving homemade firecrackers left three teenagers seriously injured in Pekalongan, Indonesia.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, March 23, in Kuripan Kidul, Kertoharjo sub-district, RT 02/01. According to reports, the teenagers were assembling large firecrackers in a banana plantation on the outskirts of the area when one of the devices exploded.

Residents who heard the explosion went to the scene and found the three victims injured. Emergency services were alerted, and the victims were transported to hospital for treatment.

Police stated that all three sustained serious injuries, including burns. Two of the victims also suffered severe hand injuries as a result of the blast.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid handling or assembling firecrackers due to the significant safety risks involved.
