A violent incident of domestic abuse was captured on security cameras in J. Augusto Saldívar, Paraguay, where a man allegedly ran over his wife with a car and then physically assaulted her in the street.

According to reports, the attack occurred on a neighborhood road in the Santa Marta area. Video footage shows the woman attempting to flee during an argument when the man drove his vehicle toward her and struck her.

After the collision, the victim fell to the ground but managed to get back up. The suspect then exited the vehicle and began beating her with his fists while she cried out for help. Neighbors who witnessed the incident rushed to intervene and assist the woman.

Authorities later identified the alleged attacker as Hugo Ricardo Rotela Bogado, 43. Police detained him and placed him at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office while the case is investigated as a possible attempted femicide.

Emergency responders provided assistance to the victim at the scene. However, officials said the woman initially declined to give a formal statement about the incident, and investigators continue working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the attack.
