Woman hospitalized with severe burns after self-immolation attempt in Sehore district - India

In a shocking incident in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, India, a 26-year-old married tribal woman set herself on fire in a public market on Sunday afternoon, causing panic among local residents.

According to local reports, the woman, identified as Vinita Uike, wife of Sunil Uike, allegedly poured petrol over herself in the middle of the market and set herself ablaze. Bystanders were horrified as flames engulfed her, and several people rushed to help, using water and cloth to try to extinguish the fire.

She was immediately taken to the nearest civil hospital in Ladkui for initial treatment. Due to the severity of her burn injuries, she was later referred to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal for advanced medical care.

It has been reported that Vinita had been staying at her parental home in Ladkui for the past two months, while her husband resides in the village of Gondi Guradia. Authorities have recorded her statement, and so far no one has been directly accused in connection with the case.
