A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in a traffic accident in the Vaquería district of Caaguazú, Paraguay, following a reckless maneuver while riding a motorcycle.

The crash occurred on Monday morning at kilometer 101 of Route PY13 when the boy reportedly attempted to overtake improperly along the shoulder and collided with a Toyota Corolla driven by a 55-year-old woman.

Security camera footage shows the motorcycle striking the side of the vehicle, causing the teenager to be thrown forcefully onto the road. He sustained injuries to his face and other parts of his body.

Volunteer firefighters provided assistance at the scene before the boy was transported to the Local Hospital in Yhú and later transferred to the General Hospital in Coronel Oviedo for further medical treatment.

Authorities indicated that the accident was likely the result of an imprudent maneuver and excessive speed. The case has been referred to the Public Ministry, and both vehicles have been impounded as the investigation continues.
