A 20-year-old man was fatally stabbed early Saturday (14) in front of a bar on Avenida Central, in the Garavelo sector of Goiânia. The incident, which occurred around 3 a.m., also left another young man injured.

The altercation began outside the establishment when two patrons engaged in an argument that escalated into pushing and shoving, footage from security cameras confirms.

The images indicate that the individual responsible for the knife attacks was not directly involved in the initial dispute. The suspect, who had been standing nearby, intervened and struck one victim in the neck. The victim attempted to move away but collapsed a few meters down the sidewalk.

A friend of the first victim also became involved and was stabbed in the left side of the chest. Following the attacks, the perpetrator fled the scene.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, confirming the death of the 20-year-old. The second victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

The Military Police, acting on witness statements, traced the suspect and his partner to a motel in Aparecida de Goiânia, near BR-153. Upon arrival, officers apprehended the suspect and his partner in the room, just hours after the homicide.

Both individuals were arrested and taken to the Central Police Station, where they remain in custody pending legal proceedings.
